For most people living with a chronic disease, sometimes the easiest of tasks are not easy. Sometimes for those people, managing to get up in the morning, start the car and just surviving through the day are the small victories you cannot even imagine how significant they are to them. But between it all, those people living with a chronic disease are more than just their diagnosis, because to people like me, they are heroes.
Welcome to the life of a Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) patient. For those who do not know what RA is, I have provided a brief explanation. HELP WANTED: Looking for a musician/writer/graphic designer to do a job but DOES NOT charge a lot of money!
How many times do we see these types of 'ads' on social media or everywhere around us? It is no surprise that often people want a good job done, for less than a fraction of the cost. But what people don't really know is how many hours of work, dedication, sleepless nights, trainings, lessons and even years of investments went into creating your work and making you the artist who you are. I never understood what it felt like to be treated as less than what I as a writer and artist, until I was in this situation. All of the sudden it all made sense. The downtrodding situation involving artists is really an issue worth talking about. In a recent collection of events, I have felt the urge or rather the need to speak my mind on the topic of student stress. As a first year student at the University, I was super eager and excited to start off my first year engaging in everything to help me achieve my main academic (long-term) goal: getting a scholarship and getting the most out of this entire four year experience.
