Bio
Hey there😊,
My name is Keyla and I am a second year student studying Social Work & Development. I am a writer, social media enthusiast, poet, and volunteer. After pursuing my bachelors of science degree in Social Work & Development I plan to do a double-masters degree in human resources management and clinical psychology. I intend to continue my career as a psychologist and writer after completing my studies. At the moment I am a student research assistant and intern at a memory clinic for diagnosing patients with Dementia.
I am passionate about writing, poetry, and advocating for animals on my social media platforms 🐶 🐱. If you would like to be part of the change, don't hesitate to contact me to learn more how you can make the change happen.
I currently reside on the beautiful sunny island of Aruba. I started writing as a hobby because it was an outlet for me to express myself as a teenager. When I later realized how much I loved it and how many people were encouraging me to write and publish my articles and poetry, I started to pursue my career as a writer. In 2016 I had the opportunity to partner up with FOCUS magazine where I became a contributing writer for the column of FOCUS TOPICO. I write monthly articles in FOCUS magazine [FOCUS TOPICO] and biweekly blog posts on relationships, love, health and beauty, student-life, work, success and much more.
I have an unhealthy obsession with coffee ☕️, and chocolates 🍫.

Q&A
What is your biggest accomplishment?
I think by far my biggest accomplishment is my ability to attend a full-time bachelors program while working three jobs and still managing to keep a 3.1 GPA.
why don't you write/blog regularly?
I used to write and blog more often (every week or biweekly) but because my study load increases every time and I also hold two jobs at the moment, I often find it difficult to really make time to write something creative and inspiring. I do my best to write as much as possible and keep my topics fresh and interesting every time.
how can i become a contributor/writer?
I started out with writing about topics that interested me. I believe that when you write about things you love and things you know best, the writing becomes easier and more authentic than when it's not. Start small, meaning try to make your own portfolio and get your articles or poetry published. There are so many platforms and websites that accept submissions, so make sure you have an interesting topic, good writing style and grammar, and have someone proof read your article for feedback.
Being a writer is much more than being someone who is paid to write. Your first writing jobs might not be paid or very well paid, but remember that everyone starts small and continues to grow. Be open to suggestions and feedback because that will help you grow as a professional and become a better writer.
I am always open for giving advice, tips and offer my blog as a platform for guest submissions and contributing writers who want to start in the world of writing and publishing.
